Cat Grooming FAQ's

  • How long will the grooming session take? The duration can vary from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours, depending on the services requested and your cat's cooperation. We take the time needed to ensure a positive experience.

  • How often should my cat be professionally groomed? We recommend a professional groom every 6 weeks, supplemented by weekly at-home maintenance. If home grooming isn't feasible, consider a "freshen up" groom every 4 weeks.

  • Do cats enjoy baths? Why is professional grooming necessary if cats groom themselves? While cats do self-groom, professional grooming offers numerous benefits, including maintaining optimal coat health, early detection of skin problems and parasites, reduced hairballs, improved comfort and hygiene, stress reduction, specialized care, and better aesthetics and odour control. Many cats learn to enjoy the pampering.

  • Do you groom cats with aggressive tendencies? Yes, but please inform us of any biting or aggressive behaviours beforehand for the safety of our groomers. We will strive to make the experience comfortable, but a handling fee may apply for challenging cases. Our team is experienced in managing difficult cats with extra safety precautions.

  • Will you groom elderly or cats with health issues? We provide extra gentle care for senior cats (over 10 years), injured cats, or those with underlying health conditions. Grooming may focus on comfort rather than elaborate styling. Please inform us of any special needs before the appointment.

  • My cat has allergies. What should I do? Please notify us of any allergies, sensitivities, or behavioural quirks your cat has before the grooming begins. Also, inform us of any sensitive areas or specific instructions. We use hypoallergenic products, but owners acknowledge the potential for reactions and are responsible for any related veterinary costs.

  • How should I prepare my cat for their first grooming appointment? Help your cat stay calm and happy before their visit. Offer treats before placing them in their carrier and ensure a peaceful journey with soft music in the car.

  • What if I'm not happy with my cat's haircut? We aim to please, but we do not offer refunds based on personal styling preferences. Please discuss your desired style with us before the groom to avoid misunderstandings.|

  • Can I wait while my cat is being groomed? As we operate from a home-based salon, we do not have a waiting area. However, there are nearby shopping centres and cafes you can explore.

  • How should I transport my cat? Please use a secure carrier for your cat's safety during transport. Covering the carrier with a towel can sometimes help anxious cats.

  • My matted cat is booked for a lion cut. Will I still be charged a de-matting fee? Yes, a de-matting fee still applies. While the mats will be shaved, the process requires additional time and careful handling to ensure your cat's comfort and safety.

  • What is the double coat fee? How do I know if it applies to my cat? A double coat fee applies to certain breeds with dense undercoats (e.g., British Shorthair, Persian, Maine Coon) that require extra time and effort for clipping or haircuts. Our groomers will assess your cat's coat upon arrival to determine if this fee is applicable.

  • Do you groom cats with fleas? For the safety of our facility and other cats, we do not accept cats with fleas for grooming. Please treat your cat for fleas before booking. If fleas are discovered during grooming, an additional fee for a flea bath and facility sanitation will be charged.
